AMEXCESS INSTALLATION GUIDE
Self-Hosted ISP Billing & Management Software
1. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Before starting the installation, make sure your VPS meets the following requirements:
- Operating System: Ubuntu Linux
- Recommended RAM: 2 GB or more
- Server: VPS with a public IP address
- Domain: A free Amexcess subdomain or your own domain
- License: A valid Amexcess license key
- Internet: A stable internet connection
2. RUN THE INSTALLATION COMMAND
Connect to your VPS through SSH and execute the following command:
The installation script will start automatically.
Important: Keep your VPS connected to the internet throughout the installation process.
3. ENTER YOUR AMEXCESS ACCOUNT DETAILS
After the script starts, it will ask for the following information:
1. Amexcess Email: Enter the email address associated with your Amexcess account.
2. License Key: Enter the valid license key provided for your subscription.
3. Domain Name: Enter the domain or subdomain you want to use for your software.
Follow the instructions displayed in the terminal.
4. CONFIGURE YOUR DOMAIN
You can use either a free Amexcess subdomain or your own domain.
OPTION A: USE A FREE AMEXCESS SUBDOMAIN
If you select a free Amexcess subdomain when purchasing your plan, open the Amexcess Dashboard and enter your VPS public IP address in the DNS Configure field. Amexcess will automatically configure the DNS record for your selected subdomain. After the DNS record is configured and points to your VPS, run the installer. It should automatically detect the subdomain associated with your subscription. Make sure you enter the correct VPS public IP address before proceeding.
OPTION B: USE YOUR OWN DOMAIN
If you want to use your own domain or subdomain, you must point it to your VPS public
IP address before starting the installation.
Step 1: Configure DNS
Log in to your domain provider's DNS management panel and create an A record for
your domain or subdomain.
Example:
Type: A
Host: @
Value: YOUR_VPS_PUBLIC_IP
Type: A
Host: billing
Value: YOUR_VPS_PUBLIC_IP
Replace YOUR_VPS_PUBLIC_IP with your actual VPS public IP address.
For example, if your VPS IP is 203.0.113.10, point your chosen domain or subdomain
to that IP. This IP address is only an example.
Step 2: Verify Your DNS Configuration
Wait for the DNS changes to propagate. DNS propagation time varies depending on your
DNS provider and configuration.
You can check the DNS record using:
dig +short billing.yourdomain.com
Replace billing.yourdomain.com with your actual domain or subdomain. The command
should return your VPS public IP address.
Step 3: Enter Your Domain
Once the domain points to your VPS IP address, enter the domain in the installer
and press Enter.
The installer will check the domain configuration. If the domain is correctly pointed
and passes the required checks, the installation will proceed.
5. COMPLETE THE INSTALLATION
After validating your account, license key, and domain configuration, the installation
script will install the required software components.
Wait until the process finishes. Do not close the SSH session or interrupt the
installer while installation is in progress.
If the domain configuration is incorrect, verify your DNS records and try again.
6. ACCESS YOUR AMEXCESS SOFTWARE
Once the installation completes successfully, the installer will provide the access
link for your installed Amexcess software, including the configured domain URL.
Open the provided link in your browser to access the software.
7. TROUBLESHOOTING
Domain verification failed:
- Confirm that the domain's A record points to your VPS public IP address.
- Check that the DNS changes have propagated.
- Ensure that the domain entered in the installer matches your DNS configuration.
Installation does not complete:
- Check that your VPS is running Ubuntu Linux.
- Ensure that the VPS has at least the recommended 2 GB of RAM.
- Verify that your server has a stable internet connection.
- Review any error messages displayed by the installation script.
License validation failed:
- Verify that you entered the correct Amexcess account email.
- Check that your license key is valid and associated with your account.
- Ensure that your VPS can connect to the Amexcess licensing service.
INSTALLATION COMPLETE
Your Amexcess ISP Billing & Management Software is ready to access once the installer
confirms successful installation and provides your domain link.
